no15. REFLECTION BLOG
What have we learnt??
Ex1 - Promo Video Parks
> planning before shooting makes editing smoother & deadlines easier to cope with
> planning allows enough time for shoot, edit & to complete on time!
Ex2 - Training Video (Food)
> planning for talent, script/storyboard, props & location needs effort to make shoot/edit smooth and problem free
Ex3 - Doco (Exploring Singapore)
> planning to tell your story angle, preparing for interview shoots/interview edits
> planning for every stage of production for every role
> planning every step of the production till completion is important!
WHY PLAN?
= helps reduce unexpected problems during production
= best defense strategy for the unexpected
= how do you get what you need to complete your production?
PREPARE STORY ANGLE
= every video has a STORY
= every video has a PURPOSE
= every video has INFO TO PRESENT to TARGET AUDIENCE
PREPARE CHECK LISTS
= helps to make sure you've everything organized & are prepared at every stage/role
MANAGE PRODUCTION SCHEDULE (IMPT!!!)
= production schedule helps you watch & manage every stage of production
FOCUS
= divide & conquer to complete!
= focus on story angle
= focus on completing earlier than deadline to allow time for anything/other problems
= focus on finishing well
you may not have started well or early enough BUT you can always AIM TO FINISH WELL :)

I will be working on foods that are VERY Singapore. A few examples would be, Chicken rice, carrot cake, Osyster omelette, laksa, hokkien prawn mee which is also named as the Rocher Mee. However, although I will be working on foods that are VERY Singapore, I will be focusing more on just one particular food. On that particular food, I will be contacting the related people and will find out who is the one who started the business in Singapore first. So, there is going to be an interview, the process of making the food and also, the same food from different type of stall to compare the differences.
